Seeing in 3D

This is something I'm sure we all take for granted, however for some time now our daughter Emily has been unable to see things in 3D. It's primarily due to her eyes and how they now operate independently of one another. His hope with her eye surgery, which consisted of nicking the inner corner muscles, was to get the brain to have to work a little harder to get them working together. The result has been notable. We have seen improvement and now that she has her new glasses as well we have seen even better improvement. The experience has been well worth it. Despite having a very stressful week, we couldn't be happier.

We had the surgery at a new Kaiser center in Irvine. Emily was blessed to have her loving Grandmother come along, as well as a visit by our Pastor. Then Grandma Gloria and Papa Peter came as well and we all surrounded and reassured her before her procedure. I have so much confidence in her Doctor and trust him with her, but it was still very hard to see her wheeled away. I think that must be very hard for any parent in any circumstance of this kind. Your heart is forever tied to your child's and whenever they are pulled away from you it hurts, even if its for their own good.

The staff was amazing and very reassuring. We all went and grab some cafeteria lunches. By the time we were done, she was too pretty much. We brought her home and had a rough couple of hours while she tried to work up the courage to open her eyes. We had such an amazing out pouring of love throughout the experience between the staff of Kaiser, our family and friends. We were blown away by the kindness of everyone. We are so grateful.
